Glenallachie 9 Year Old 2012 Vintage Cuvee Wine Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL

There is a distinctive twist to this release by blending four exceptional wine finishes into one unique expression. Master Distiller, Billy Walker, expertly sourced Languedoo, Recioto Della Valpolicella and wine barriques from two Premier Cru Classé Chateaux. After initial maturation in American Oak Ex – Bourbon Barrels, the whisky was then transferred into the selection of wine barriques for secondary maturation. Billy carefully monitored the character development of each individual cask before skilfully blending the whiskies together to create the GlenAllachie Cuvée Cask Finish.

The combination of interesting wood types unifies to create an intense flavour composition. From the elegant stone fruits of the Languedoc to the gentle spice of the Recioto Della Valpolicella, all balanced impeccably with the sweet opulent texture from the Premier Cru Classé. Each barrique significantly contributes to this exceptionally unique bottling.

Golden Bronze in colour, the nose is bursting with orange blossom, espresso, maraschino cherries and honeysuckle, with hints of candied stone fruits, hazelnuts, lavender and cinnamon. The palate has waves of dark chocolate, red currants and burnt coffee beans, followed by crystalised almonds, blackberries and orange zest, with ginger and liquorice on the finish.

This limited expression is bottled unchilfiltered for flavour with no added colouring at 48% ABV.
