Betadine Cold Sore Ointment 7.5g

Betadine Cold Sore Ointment 7.5g, if applied at the first signs of a cold sore (usually a tingling or itching sensation) can help to reduce the risk of spreading the infection.
If applied during the prodromal stage, it can prevent blister formation, or at least reduce the severity of the attack.
If applied during the second stage, It will also prevent secondary infection of the blister.
If applied during the third stage, it will help an infected blister heal.

Contains 10% w/w Povidone-Iodine. Equivalent to 1% w/w available Iodine.

Apply the Betadine Cold Sore product liberally to the affected area at least four times a day.

Not to be used in known hypersensitivity to iodine or povidone.
If irritation, redness or swelling develops, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
For further information on contraindications to the use of povidone-iodine containing preparations, please refer to the package insert or consult your healthcare professional prior to use.
Povidone-Iodine preparations should not be applied over a long period and to large areas of the skin (e.g., not to more than 10% of the total body surface and for not longer than 14 days) unless strictly indicated.
