This HSS tap will allow you to fully clean internal threads out or tap a thread from scratch. This particular tap is for a left handed thread. Left handed threads are commonly used when there is a force anti clockwise that could unscrew the fitting from the tapped hole. A left handed thread prevents the fitting from unscrewing as it is threaded in the opposite direction.
