Just like humans, all growing plants need a balanced diet of nutrients (food)  in order to thrive . However,  your  plants  will  only  be able to  access these nutrients  if  the nutrient solution is within a  particular  pH range.   

From  a   water chemistry  perspective , pH (potential Hydrogen) plays a critical role in making nutrients soluble so that they can be a bsorbed  by your plants. When your growing solution becomes too acidic or too alkaline, your plants won’t be able to access the nutrients they need to grow.   

Get the fundamentals of growing right by regularly measuring pH to ensure that this is always wi thin the optimal range.

Extend the life of your pH probe

You need to regularly clean and maintain your  Bluelab  pH  P robe t o ensure  its  ongoing accuracy and longevity .  

Use  Bluelab’s  Probe Care Kit , which contains everything you need to  clean and  care for your  pH probe.  Every time you clean your probe,  calibrate  it   us ing   Bluelab  Calibration Solutions .    

  In addition,  boost  your probe’s lifespan by  ensuring that  its tip stays wet  at all times. Use the included  storage cap  whenever you’re not using your probe  and regularly top up  the amount of  KCl   inside  the cap .    

This probe is compatible  with  all  Bluelab  products with a corresponding BNC connector, such as the   Combo Meter  and   Guardian Monitor.  

Attention Valued Customer:

Ph testers and Ph probes are sensitive scientific equipment. They will require extra care and maintenance from the user (you) to ensure accurate readings, measurements and valid warranties. 

Ph testers (without replaceable probes) and Ph probes are electrical sensors and considered a consumable item. You should aim to be replacing these over time as you do media, nutrients, etc. Probes and Pens (without replaceable probes) only have a 6-month warranty from date of purchase and will not be honoured without receipt of purchase.

Probes and Pens with proper care can last for years, but as it is a live charge in the electrode it can be finished from 6 months. Moreso if correct care procedures have not been maintanined. Hydroponic nutrients in particular degrade Ph probes much faster than other disciplines.

Probes must always be rehydrated before use in storage solution, available for purchase in store

Probes must be kept in storage solution when not in use (in tank monitors excepted)
