The thimble is a handy little sewing accessory that is usually attached to the middle or ring finger. Ideal for pushing the needle through the fabric without risk of injury. This special patchwork thimble is suitable for pushing the needle through different layers of fabric or for upholstery work. The notch on the side allows the needle to be pushed sideways. The top of the thimble is slightly hollowed out in order to keep the needle in the desired position when you push. The spiking on the outside prevents the needle from slipping.
