Cafe Altura coffees are organically grown at altitudes above 3000 feet on small family owned farms from around the world. The coffee tree grows according to its natural cycle. No harmful chemical fertilizers and pesticides are used at any time in the growing or processing of Cafe Altura Organic Decaffeinated Coffees. We use the Mountain Water method which soaks the coffee beans in flavor charged, heated water, moving them through activated carbon filters to remove the caffeine while leaving the flavor intact. The result is a rich coffee with 97% of the caffeine safely removed. This process is accepted for use in Organic Coffees by the USDA and Stellar Certification services.
