CE-certified, Pi-16ADC added to the Raspberry Pi provides 16 analogue to digital conversion (ADC) ports. Analogue sensors added to the Raspberry Pi makes the Raspberry Pi with Pi-16ADC a powerful hybrid sensor and control system. Using Pi-EzConnect with the Pi-16ADC allows access to digital as well as analogue sensors, ideal for developing data loggers, IoT or other sensor based systems. Pi-16ADC provides 16 single ended analogue channels. Each single-ended analogue channel can read in a maximum of 2.5 V peak-to-peak. Each adjacent channel can be paired together to create a differential channel. Differential channels can read in an analogue signal from a maximum of -2.5V to +2.5V. Software configuration determines the type of channel channel and use. The 16-bit conversion allows an accuracy of 38.1 micro volts. The Sigma-Delta ADC chip on board can perform up to seventeen samples per second across all the channels allowing each channel to be polled 2-3 times a second. 50/60 Hz noise filters prevent spurious readings. The Pi-16ADC communicates to the Raspberry Pi using an I2C bus. Polling each channel on the I2C bus can be as fast as 2-3 times a second. To prevent address conflicts, the I2C address can be set to one of the 27 possible addresses using the address jumpers provided on the Pi-16ADC board. The address jumpers can be connected to Vcc (5V or HIGH) or Ground (0V or LOW) or address jumpers may be removed or left floating (FLOAT). The combination of the HIGH-LOW-FLOAT determines the address of the Pi-16ADC on the I2C bus. Combining Pi-16ADC with Pi-EzConnect makes it perfect for creating data loggers, IoT devices, prototyping work and validating sensors. CE compliant.
