The Olympus EW-M1718 M.Zuiko 17mm f1.8 Wide Metal Snap Lens is a high-grade snapshot lens with high-performance technology packed into a compact metal body.

  • Maximum aperture of F1.8
  • High-speed imager AF (MSC mechanism)
  • Maximum image magnification of 0.08x
  • 65° angle of view

9 elements (including 3 aspherical lenses) are placed to achieve sharp, high-contrast images throughout the image area even at F1.8 aperture. The Olympus EW-M1718 M.Zuiko 17mm f1.8 Wide Metal Snap Lens features the snapshot focus mechanism for easy quick deep focus shooting, as well as the MSC mechanism that enables fast, smooth auto focusing for both still images and movies.

ZERO lens coating

ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) Coating on the surface of the lens eliminates ghosts and flares despite their high transparency. ZERO Coating boasts clear image quality even under challenging conditions such as backlighting.

MSC mechanism

The MSC (Movie and Still Compatible) mechanism achieves fast and silent focusing with a lightweight form and minimum number of lenses, employing an inner focus system. Auto focusing by optimally controlling the three small, lightweight lenses allows users to comfortably shoot still images and movies.

Advanced snapshot focus mechanism

By sliding the focus ring a specific distance towards you, the distance markers engraved on the lens barrel moves to a point on the distance marker. This mechanism allows quick deep-focus shooting, in which both subject and background are in focus.
