Casio Men's G-shock (DW-6930D-1DR)
Extended Care Options
Amongst Casio’s most notable achievements is the first shock-proof watch. The Casio G-Shock premiered in 1983, designed by a Casio engineer named Kikuo Ibe who strove to “create a watch that never breaks.” The Casio development team set out to produce a watch that would endure a ten meter free-fall, with ten bar water resistance, and a ten year battery life. With the creation of a hollow-structure case that encloses the module and glass components of the watch on all sides, the G-Shock met these requirements. The case design itself prevents any direct contact with flat surfaces against the glass and buttons. A scratch resistant, urethane band acts as an additional shock absorber. The G-Shock is updated twice annually, in addition to limited release editions that are sold periodically throughout the year, several of which become highly desirable collector’s items.
This new special G-SHOCK 30th Anniversary Model features a high durability carbon fiber insert band. The latest in band forming technology embeds goldcolored parts are embedded into resin material to enable exciting new design potential. The text “30th ANNIVERSARY” and “SINCE 1983” is embedded along with star marks on the band, and the G-SHOCK logo decorates the band loop. Based on the world popular DW-6900, this model features a 30th Anniversary logo on its back cover. Side buttons, the face and other components are done in gold coloring to create a look that truly celebrates G-SHOCK’s 30th birthday.
