The selfie phenomenon has taken the world by storm. The new art form has given us a unique insight into the lives of celebrities, created a powerful new form of self expression, and just last week it was named the Oxford English Dictionary 2013 word of the year. We’ve even recently seen the rather disturbing “selfies at funerals”.
But, selfies are far from perfect. Accidentally cropped duck faces, photobombs, and cracked screens from dropped phones are holding selfies back.
That’s why Kogan is launching the Kogan Zuckerberg Selfie Stick. It will revolutionise how we take selfies, and it goes on sale today for just $19 right here:
Read all about how and why the Selfie Stick was launched in Ruslan Kogan’s open letter to Mark Zuckerberg:

Dear Mark Zuckerberg,
Re: The Selfie Revolution - Zuckerberg Selfie Stick
Congratulations on achieving amazing things. You have changed the way the world communicates and builds relationships. But one of your greatest achievements has been overlooked - you are the creator of “The Selfie”. You may not have been the first person to ever take one, but you have created the platform that has enabled them!
Some people seem to not like selfies. Some have taken them to extremes with funeral selfies. But still, the selfie phenomenon shows no sign of slowing down. Just last week it was named the 2013 word of the year.
At Kogan, we listen to all of our customers and we service their demands. Many of our customers are obviously also Facebook customers (at least half a million of them). We have been working very hard and pouring countless hours into R&D to create the world’s best way to take a selfie: today we are proud to unveil The Zuckerberg Selfie Stick (Facebook & Instagram Compatible). We’re honouring your achievements by naming this revolutionary product after you:
It’s affordable, and highly functional. No more dropped phones because of jittery or slippery hands while taking selfies. No more having to take 12 selfieS before you find the right angle (we included a handy mirror). The extra-reach of the Kogan Selfie stick also means you can get the optimal duck face angle.
I’m sure your shareholders would agree too. This will be a game changer. There will be more selfies on Facebook than ever before. More selfies = more interaction = more ads = more revenue.
I’ve done a bit of Facebook stalking, and was horrified to see that you haven’t posted a Facebook selfie yourself! That’s the equivalent of me not using a Kogan TV :). Zuck, it’s time to give the people what they want.
You’ve got celebrities like Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian, and Rihanna trying to steal your thunder. They want the world to think they are the Kings and Queens of selfies. But we know that selfies would not exist if it weren’t for your entrepreneurial achievements. So, we thought we’d name the product after you. What we have created goes on sale to the world today officially as the “Zuckerberg Selfie Stick”.
But, you’re going to have to work for it. Last week we sent you the very first Kogan Zuckerberg Selfie Stick to roll off the production line:
We’ve confirmed with DHL that it arrived to your office and was signed for today. I look forward to seeing you use it to post your first selfie on Facebook soon, and seeing you lead the Selfie 2.0 revolution.
If however you don’t do this, we’re going to go to plan B and call this the Kardashian Selfie Stick, as we know she’ll be up for it ;).
