We have previously discussed that there are some limitations of 3D TV, such as the lack of 3D content. However, we have recently noticed that more and more customers are asking about 3D TV here on the Kogan blog and on Facebook and Twitter.
As our business grows, and the price of 3D technology comes down, we're now approaching a position where we can create a TV with the 3D feature for not much more than the cost of one of our existing LED TVs.
We’d be looking at a price increase of approximately $80-$120 in the 46” and 55” sizes. These would be LED TVs using Samsung panels.
There still isn’t much 3D content available, but we’ve also noticed a significant increase in 3D gaming. Unlike the big brands we won't just lump 3D into most of the TVs in our range and make everyone pay for it, even if they don't want that feature.
Sticking to our promise of creating and delivering exactly what our customers want, we’re going to let you, our customers, decide if we should create a 3D TV.
Do you want Kogan to create a 3D TV? Are you happy with the current range of industry-leading LED TVs? Or would you pay a premium for a 3D LED TV, to use for gaming or to be prepared for when more content arrives?
