four stars
I got my "Kogan – Agora Internet TV Portal" delivered last Friday, and had a bit of a play over the weekend, generally it was as good as I expected but has a few disappointing issues. Now maybe I have a dud box but the main issue of concern is that when you turn the device on via the remote control 99% of the time it doesn't turn the HDMI display on!? To get the device to turn on I must boot it up from scratch, to do this I must turn it off then back on at the main power switch at the wall, then press the remote control on button – then it boots up! The remote control on/off button is just supposed to turn the HDMI output on/off (the android device should already be up and running). Powering up from the wall boots the device from scratch. The other problem with the remote control is that in bright light situations the 'mouse' cursor goes nuts! If you draw the curtains to make the room darker its fine. That sort of sux. I did buy the android wireless keyboard and track pad as well, and that seems to work fine in all conditions, so at least I can use that during the daytime when the remote control freaks out. I knew the OS was Android 2.2, but I wonder if there will be a possible to upgrade to 2.3 or later – something to investigate later. The good stuff is that I can get my email, watch iview, catchup tv, ted talks, play music, remotely access my pc, play angry birds (had to say it – getting a bit old – but you know what I mean – lots of games to play), etc. all the android apps I need on my big screen tv. Anyone else had a play or got comments about this device?

I have got my machine this weekend. It serves as described. Can't expact much from android 2.2 as it is not optimised for tablet. Not all application is supported for landscpe view. For 16:9 ratio tv, you don't find news apps comfortable, the heading itself acquires half the space. Set up is quite easy, just connect and run. Full HD movies runs great. Third party wallpapers looks blurry as they are obvisouly not full hd and landscape. By the way can someone from Kogan team please advise me what is the network symbol on top right corner (just beside wifi symbol) is for. How to connect it with network. So in keynote, it is a great product considering of its first generation production. Would be great if Kogan supports this product with updates. Great work Kogan!

Pretty awesome - standard remote is like a wiimote, and just like an android2.2 phone. Works well with crunchyroll/youtube/internet but wish I could root it (to mount/stream from cifs shares).
