Fluorite & Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) Lens Elements
This lens features elements made from fluorite, which compensates for the difference in refractive indexes for wavelengths of light (colours). The five UD elements are also used to maximise constrast and colour through the zoom range.

Ultrasonic Focusing
A ring-type ultrasonic motor drives the lense’s autofocus. Not only is it extremely fast, but the motor holds torque to ensure the point of focus is reached accurately without overshooting. Full-time manual override is also available, without having to leave AF mode.
